Maybe if you hit something hard a tree or something while you are getting chased so you have to keep trying to start your car

Would be nice to know people's opinion on this one. I am personally against it and the car should only stop the engine if requested, or if you total it

I have to agree with nameless. There are some issues where if you have some lag or anything can occur client side and you end up in a tree, that's something that can't just be reversed due to it probably being in a chase and having to explain to everyone and prove how it was a situation out of your control. I personally would -1 this suggestion based on that factual standpoint.

As much as car stalling can be beneficial, I agree with the above. A lot of things can really mess with this and make things unenjoyable and hard. -1 from me.

I'll be honest I like the idea, but not as a standalone. I think if we we're to implement this it would need to be part of a larger system in regards to vehicle maintenance in general, and I think that would really start to complicate things on the server a bit too much. Perhaps its something that can be thought of/adapted in the future if the devs decides to head in that direction when it comes to vehicles.

For example over 50,000 miles it would stall one a timer (every 10 minutes with a 0.00% chance, and each 1000 miles over that would add 0.1% onto that, up until it hits like 20%). At this point the engine would maybe stall and not restart - and would need to be replaced at a Repair Shop?

This would mean at the following:
50,000 = 00.00%
51,000 = 00.10%
60,000 = 01.00%
100,000 = 05.00%
200,000 = 10.00%
400,000 = 20.00% - Would not restart, needs an engine swap at repair shop

For me, it would depend on how quickly people would be able to rack up 50k miles and how much part replacements cost.

This would be really cool for roleplay on both civilian and crim side, this way if you know a big event is coming up where you might get chased you get your engine swapped so it doesnt stall. Or just for civs to get it changed regularly for RP.

I would say for the engine stalling it would be good for police chases or if your chasing somebody in general bc if someone gets in a big crash they say /me rubs head and then drives off it can kind of stop that from happening but it is also really annoying when your alone and u spam engine until it starts again so i would say a +1 and a -1 for that//////about the mileage system i would have to agree with Zethnos and say it would depend on how fast u get up to that 50k mark but if it takes a while +1 for that and i would say the more expensive the car is the more the engine would cost etc

I actually think thats a great idea. However I still would like to see it expanded upon more. Great start though. I think this would add more to RP and make for some interesting situations!
